Food & Drink

We love our food in Putney, and we grow a lot of it around here as well. Come have a casual meal and drink on the deck at JD McCliment’s Pub, grab takeout sandwiches from our Co-op or General Store, or settle in for an artisanal experience at The Gleanery. For the early risers, the Putney Diner opens at 6am with a full breakfast and lunch menu along with homemade pie.

If you want to know where your food comes from, take a drive. You’ll pass farms and orchards where you can usually find something tasty to nibble on or head out and pick your own fruit. Green Mountain Orchards is a great family experience with berry and apple picking, wagon and sleigh rides, and delicious fresh baked goods from the kitchen. Harlow’s Sugar House is another great spot for pick your own fruit, as well as maple syrup and gifts.

Need to get groceries while you’re here? The Putney Food Co-op and Putney General Store both offer groceries, beer & wine, and delicious prepared foods to go.
