If you pop in to the Putney General Store, you can find a trails guide to Putney. This map details walking loops throughout town, many of which are excellent on a bike as well. There is even a walking tour of the historic architecture of our town, created by the Putney Historical Society.

The Putney Town Forest trailhead is located behind the Putney Central School. The trailhead is a gateway for many great walking trails that are family and dog friendly.

The Putney Town Pool, located behind the Putney Central Schools is a excellent choice for a family swim. The pool features a zero entry design, friendly staff, a picnic pavilion, and a water slide. If you ask a local, you’re likely to hear about a few favorite swimming holes as well, tucked away just off the beaten path.

With a boat launch on the Connecticut River, it is easy to get out in the water and enjoy a day exploring the river. Bring your boat, canoe, kayak, or paddleboard and explore this historic river.
